Bargy (Mark Bargenguast) Owner/operator: After operating his own guiding business in Hervey bay for almost ten years, Bargy sold up and came to guide with us for the last 8 years. He brings different ideas and techniques to the team. Bargy is now a Weipa local, moving his family up here 5 years ago and now works with us full time. Working with Fish (Alan Philliskirk) The previous owner of Fish’s Fly & Sportfishing, Fish has over 32 years, experience fishing and guiding the waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria PNG. Fiji, and many other international destinations including guiding for some 22 years around the Weipa area. Working with the two other experiences guides Jackson and Drew have kept the legend going. Mark and Alan have worked hard over the past 10 years to develop a fly fishing business that people can trust.
When if comes to fishing and most especially fly fishing there are many things out of our control The guys from Fishs Fly and Sports Fishing work hard to make sure they have the things that they can control ‘under control’.
Weipa is a location that if you can think of a tropical sportsfish species you can catch it there Yes, I can hear your thinking ‘black Bass, Giant Tarpon Bone Fish’. So lets just say a good percentage of the ones you can think of.

A Fly Fishing and Sport Fishing ParadiseCome to Weipa and catch such great sportfish as; Queenfish, GT’s, Barramundi, Giant Herring, Golden Trevally, Permit, Milkfish, Spanish Mackerel, Grey Mackeral, Longtail Tuna and many more. Some of the world’s best sports fish can be caught on fly, by lure or live bait in the flats, on the river or further out in the blue water.Catch Cobia and Golden Trevally off the backs of giant Manta Rays, or walk the pristine beaches and sight cast to cruising Queenfish and Trevally.
