    Located on the south west of Papua New Guinea, this majestic river is surrounded by more than 1,500 square kilometres of flood plains and stretches 463km into the heart of Western Province.

    Flying into Aramia River via a Twin Otter charter plane, you’ll visit this amazing region which is home to the Gogodala people, who’s rich history and culture is a high light on our tour. Their art and ancient practice of building giant long houses that accommodate the whole village and traditional war canoes capable of holding 50 warriors, is a sight to behold.

    Expect Papuan Black Bass, Barramundi, Saratoga, Niugini Tiger Fish and Saw Fish.

    Fly Fishing Papua New Guinea, home to the powerful Papuan Black Bass, it also has some amazing and untouched saltwater fly fishing opportunities in the Coral Sea, with Giant Trevally, Napoleon Wrasse, Bluefin Trevally, Triggerfish and a myriad of reef species available.

    Papua New Guinea is easily accessible a short flight north of Australia, encompassing the eastern half of New Guinea including over six hundred small islands, over eight hundred languages and tribes, with only a small percentage of the population living in urban areas.

    Beautiful lush mountain rivers, creeks and lakes are also home to Barramundi,  Niugini Bass, Spot Tail Bass and Mangrove Jack in the upper reaches all the way down to the estuaries and river mouths entering the Coral Sea. Including New Britain, the saltwater fly fishing options on numerous reef systems and atolls are best accessed via live-aboard Motherships while land based options are available inland all in a warm sub-tropical setting.
