The kind of days
you don’t forget.

Albany Island is the closest base to a remarkable chain of coral cays, sand flats and reef systems sitting off the northern tip of Cape York. On the right weather day, you can access four or five stunning sand cays and five or six incredible reef systems, each with its own mix of clear water, white sand, coral bommies, current lines and fishy edges.

“This is one of the truly remote parts of Australia. There are no crowds, no boat traffic, no one sneaking into your drift, and often no sign of another person anywhere.”

Just turquoise water, reef, sand, sky and that rare feeling that you have somehow found a private corner of the world.

The fishing can be as good as the scenery. You might spend the morning casting to queenfish, GTs, coral trout, mackerel, golden trevally, blue bastards, permit and whatever else decides to arrive with the tide. Around these reef edges and sand cay systems, you are always in the game.

More than Fishing

But Coral Cay Dreaming is not just about fishing. It is about pulling up somewhere impossibly beautiful, going for a swim in clear tropical water, walking barefoot across a sand cay, and cooking a simple barbecue while the boats sit quietly in the shallows.

This is remote Cape York at its best—wild, beautiful, peaceful and completely unforgettable.
