With looks of Big Barra being caught and some yummy food to boot.
With the biggest wet season the owners have seen, the floodplains are expected to be in a run-off condition until August. This means the fish will be moving around and feeding like never before.
This is great news for next season as well, and typically, it will be a cracker next year. Big floods run everything into overdrive.
This week alone, there have been 3 x 100cm+ barramundi caught.
Why do I love Barra fishing at Dhipirri so much?
It’s far from the maddening crowds, which can be true for many locations in Australia. Our remoteness on a global scale is even more evident when you are at a location like Dhiprri. It’s not easy to get to, which is a simple truth. That means everything is just a little more untouched than many places that have accessible roads.
The amount of water you have to Fish each day is incredible. Yes, every Guide has their favourite spot, and sometimes, a particular area is firing so much that more than one boat will be there having a crack. You can be sure that it won’t be anyone other than people staying at the Lodge with you.
The owners have a superb relationship with the traditional owners, which gives them complete fishing exclusivity in the area.
The accommodation is perfect for the area, and the food is extraordinary. No matter how good the Fishing is each afternoon, you look forward to returning to the Lodge for pre-dinner nibbles and then a delicious meal.
Yes, it is more expensive than other locations. Once you take into account the Travel necessary, but when time is our most valuable asset, is it not better to invest a few dollars more to make sure that that time is spent in the best possible place?
