01 / How we work
Two different trips
This is all about fly fishing. We are only wanting to talk to people that are 100% fly fishing.
Fishing Earth is a specialist fishing travel consultancy. We put the species, the water, the season, the guide, the travel and the comfort together into one trip. We do it because fly anglers keep getting sold conventional fishing trips with a fly rod allowed in the boat, and those are two different trips. They need different water, different tides, different boats, different guides, and very often different dates.
Finding the place is the easy part. Anyone can drop a pin and study a flat on Google Earth, and we do plenty of that ourselves. What sits between that pin and your first cast is the work. The week that actually fishes. The tide that puts fish on the flat. The guide who knows that ground and how to pole it. The boat that can get you there. Every decision either serves that moment or it does not, and that is how we plan a fly trip.
We do not own the boats
That is deliberate. An operator has to sell every week of their season, including the weeks that will not fish well on fly. We do not. We are paid as a booking agent by the operators we work with, so you pay what you would pay going direct, and it means we can tell you to wait for a better window. That costs us a booking. It does not cost you a trip.
An operator can only sell you their water. We choose from all of it, and we say plainly when a place is not the right answer for what you want.

Saltwater
Hunting, in shin deep water
Sight cast turquoise flats. Work mangrove edges. Throw big flies at giant trevally. Search the reef edge for pelagics. Fish from a skiff, a beach, a private island or a mothership positioned exactly where tomorrow begins.
Tropical saltwater fly fishing is hunting. You are not casting at water, you are casting at a fish you have already found, in shin deep water, with one shot at it.
Freshwater
Rhythm and reading water
Follow wild rivers, spring creeks and backcountry water. Chase trout in New Zealand and Australia, or build a trip across several waters around the places, the seasons and the style of fishing that matter to you.
Different skill, different pace, same principle. We start with the water and the time of year, then work backwards to the dates.
Beginner, experienced or completely obsessed, the best trip starts with an honest conversation about how you like to fish.
02 / Find your fishing
Start with the experience, not the package

There are only ever a handful of genuinely good days in a season. The whole job is getting you as many of them as we can.
Sight cast the flats
Clear water, moving fish and one clean presentation. The flats, atolls, reef edges and sand cays of northern Australia and the South Pacific. Permit, blue bastards, golden trevally, bonefish, tuskfish and queenfish.
Hunt the heavy hitters
Giant trevally, black marlin, tuna and queenfish. Bluewater fish that test the expensive reel, the knot you tied in the dark, your nerve and your guide, usually in that order.
Fish big wild rivers
Barramundi in the tidal river and creek systems of northern Australia, and black bass in Papua New Guinea. Structure, tight quarters and fish that go straight back into it.
Fish wild trout water
Backcountry rivers, spring creeks, alpine lakes and remote systems in New Zealand and the Australian high country, where the setting is half the reward.

Mothership and yacht expeditions that move with the conditions and put you close to tomorrow’s fishing before you go to bed.
