Reasonable Use of Fishing Gear Policy – FishingEarth

Reasonable Use of Fishing Gear Policy

FishingEarth partners only with locations that provide quality, well-maintained fishing gear suitable for the environment and the style of fishing required. The following policy sets clear expectations for fair and reasonable use of that equipment.

1. Gear Provided

  • Each location supplies the rods, reels, tackle, and lures needed to get the job done.
  • A standard provision of lures, poppers, and soft plastics is included as part of your trip.

2. Normal Wear and Tear

  • If equipment breaks in the normal course of fishing, it is the responsibility of the charter/location to replace or repair it.
  • This covers breakages that occur despite proper use.

3. Guest Responsibility

If equipment is damaged, lost, or broken through misuse or carelessness, the guest is responsible for replacement costs.

Examples include:

  • Stepping on a rod.
  • Dropping a rod overboard.
  • Persistently using gear in a way that the guide has advised against.

4. Lures and Tackle

  • Each guest is provided with a fair allocation of lures, poppers, and soft plastics.
  • Should additional items be required beyond this allocation, the cost will be charged to the guest.

In short: The location covers normal fishing-related gear failures. Guests cover gear lost or damaged through carelessness, misuse, or ignoring guide instructions. FishingEarth ensures every partner location is equipped with the right gear for the job.
